Community Service

 

What is Service Learning, and Why Does it Matter?

Service learning is grounded in experiential education - learning by doing. Projects can be developed and adapted for students in 学前教育, Lower, Middle, and 上学校.
 
Through service learning, students work together with their teacher to develop community projects. Afterwards, students reflect on what happened during the experience. The learning becomes meaningful, and students see how and why their education is preparing them to become involved citizens. When students serve, they learn!

Students Give Back at Every Age

幼儿园ers focus on caring for our senior citizens and supporting programs like Meals On Wheels. They may draw pictures, 写卡片, and collect toiletries, while actively practicing how to care for others.
Fourth graders ponder heroism in history class and write letters of gratitude to soldiers and veterans. Receiving appreciative letters in return shows them their efforts matter.
 
Fifth graders host a holiday bazaar where they make, market, and sell items. Proceeds support a day and after school care center for homeless children.
 
初中 & Seniors explore socioeconomic class issues in modern America and simultaneously practice volunteerism in local shelters. They are able to engage in local community causes, earning service hours to augment curriculum.

    Hornet Nights are one night each season where most or all teams are playing games throughout campus on the same night.  We will have activities for the whole family and celebrate our Hornet Athletes! 

  • 8/9 Grade Transition Night

    All eighth-grade students and their families are invited to hear from Head of 上学校 Trevor Worcester and 上学校 faculty and administrators about life in the 上学校 including how to manage the details of a smooth transition.

  • Valentine's Improv Show

    Location: MPAC Studio Theater

  • PS/LS/MS Sports Recognition Night

    Location: Athletic Center Lobby
